With the recent news about the Pixel 6a battery overheating issue and the accompanying Android update and replacement program, I'm thinking of taking the $100 from Google and doing the replacement myself to save a bit of money. However, I want to make sure that the battery I'd get if I ordered iFixIt's kit would be unaffected by the issue. Is there any way to verify this?

@everlasting1der that is something we can't answer on here for sure. We are not really connected to iFixit as a business or the parts that are being sold. Based on what we do know about iFixit and our own experiences with the company, I am certain that they will make sure that the batteries they are selling are of highest standard and that they will be safe.
Now, to verify this, I suggest you contact iFixit sales directly and see what they tell you. Use this form to do so.
