Can I use the earpiece from iPhone 4 to iPhone 4S?

I have an iPhone 4S which have troubles with it's earpiece (internal speaker). No sound comes out of it.

I have a spare iPhone 4-earpiece, which I know works.

Are these compatible with iPhone 4S? I can always try to do the switch and see for my self, but since I am not 100% sure if it's the speaker which is faulty - it might be the flex - I cannot be sure of incompatibility if it doesn't work.

Yes the iPhone 4 earpiece speaker works fine with the iPhone 4S.

There is no flex cable for the earpiece speaker in the 4 and 4S - the 2 copper prongs make contact with the mainboard.

If you're still having trouble after replacing the speaker it might be worth trying to remove the screen and replacing the speaker mesh.

I've tried an iPhone 4 earpiece speaker on a 4S. The iPhone 4 earpiece speaker is i bit longer/wider so it didn't fit. But an iPhone 4S EP speaker works fine on an iPhone 4 :)

No the speaker may work however the sensors don't line up.
