Is excessive vibration a symptom of a shorted power transformer? What effects will this condition have upon image accuracy for measurements?

A short circuit in a power transformer will either blow a fuse or if there's inbuilt protection in the circuit design, it will shut the device down.
A partial short circuit in the windings of a power transformer either in the primary winding or in the secondary winding, will affect the voltage/current output of the transformer which may affect how the scanner behaves.
What is the model number of the scanner?

@kennethjanicki your MRI will not come on with a shorted power transformer. Not sure what issues your MRI is having but a shorted power transformer will be on the bottom of the list for excessive vibration. Bad coils can cause excessive vibration by rapidly flipping the magnetic field but not your power transformer. And Yes, those will cause useless images.
