Hi @leon47890

Have you tried using a compatible, known working USB-C 5V/2A charger or USB-C cable to see if it charges the tablet OK?

Use a strong light and a magnifying glass to inspect if the USB-C charge port in the tablet is OK i.e. no broken or bent pins, and that the port enclosure is not blocked with any debris e.g., lint etc, which may prevent a good electrical connection between the charger and the tablet.

If there is any debris lodged in the port enclosure, do not use a pin or metal probe to try and get it out. Try using a vacuum cleaner to suck it out.

If the charge port seems OK, how old is the tablet? Given that it is a fairly new tablet, (release 04/2024) then depending on your location it still may be covered by the manufacturer's warranty.

If the warranty period is still valid, contact the manufacturer as per the warranty document (linked above) and maker a claim for a warranty repair or replacement.

Thanks I will inspect the port when I am back from holiday a few days later.

The e-reader is left at home.

Although bought only less than a quarter Kobo do not accept it as warranted.

I left the unit to charge after not using it for months after I bought. Haven't then ready to use. When I return to the unit thinking enough time charging. I saw a vertical line a cross the screen and Kobo kept insisting I have caused a physical damage to the unit.

I asked Kobo to just fix the charging and boot up, they kept harboring over its a screen damage and said I can only contact iFixit, shading all responsibility of a warrant repair. Even I am willing to pay for the repair.

Post an image in your question showing the line in the screen. Here's how to do this Aggiungere immagini ad una domanda

If there is screen damage, there may also be damage to the motherboard.

I tried looking for replacement charge ports before, without success, just in case it was just a faulty port, that needed replacing but given how recent the tablet is there's no parts of any kind available. At least none that I could find online.

So if the screen is damaged the tablet may not be able to be repaired, unless Kobo accepts it under warranty and replaces it.

First things first though, is to look at the line in the screen
