LCD replacement or whole unit
Can the screen be replaced as in older models or do you have to buy the whole assembly?

You can replace just the display but it is a difficult, sensitive task.

I agree with machead3, I myself tried to open the top assembly, I used a heat gun, no problem in opening it, the real pain was to remove the lcd, I ended up in damaging the led strip and now I need to change the full assembly...
