Why aren't my papers being fed into the printer automatically?
The papers won't pass through though the roller by themselves unless I assist by pushing them

Often times the feed rollers need cleaning as over time they pickup the paper dust loosing their grip to the paper sheets.
Get some 90% isopropyl alcohol, some cotton swabs (Q-Tips) a micro fiber cloth which you can cutup into smaller pieces if need to wipe the roller pinch surfaces. I also find a can of canned air and small paint brush can be useful to scrub and then blow away the caked on dust within the printer and clear the sensors of junk.
