Water Damage or Keyboard ribbon causing keyboard failure?
Recently had some liquid spill into the keyboard of my Macbook Pro. I took out the logic board and checked everything over and there didn't appear to be any residue or evidence of liquid contact at all. When I put everything back together I was having a hard time getting the keyboard ribbon back into the slot, and in the end I wasn't sure whether it was in all the way. After 30 minutes of trying, I figured I'd give it a go as is.
Machine booted, and seemingly worked fine, other than the trackpad not working at all, and about half of the keys on my keyboard. My question is could the ribbon being not in all the way cause only some keys to stop working? Or is this more likely to be caused by the liquid damage?
If it's from the liquid then I'll clearly have to buy a new upper case but I thought I should check about the ribbon before I go and buy one. Much appreciated folks.
