The battery charge indicator is lying!

My iphone4 is switching off when indicator say about 40-45% of charge and show the empty battery logo then I'm trying to switch it on. What is wrong? Is it time to bury the battery?

certainly sounds like it. Once the battery starts failing suddenly or emptying rapidly it's time to swap it.

The battery is rehabilitated. The problem was solved by restoring of factory defaults. iOS bug, I think.

Another fix for battery memory problems is full drain & full charge a few times. & hard reset.
