Left side of screen doesn't work

I changed the digitizer on my iPad 2 and it worked fine. When I changed the digi, and got it back together I found out I damaged the wifi antennae and had to take it back apart. When I put it back together everything worked fine except a section of the left hand screen in picture mode about a half an inch wide. I've checked everywhere on the web and can find no answers other than try rebooting or updating etcetera. One guy thinks I may have damage part of the ribbon cable but I doubt it. I was very carefully putting it back together again. It's possible that the digitizer plug isn't pushed in all the way but wouldn't the whole screen be affected and not just a small section?. One guy says live with it. I say "no, why should I live with it, if I can fix it ,why not!"

Any ideas what this might be?? I've seen many posts asking the same question for iPads,iPods,iPhones but no clear answers..
