zephair fan starts then slows after 10 minutes. can't find cap value,

printed on the old cap but hard to decipher. I see 2.5 but seems low. 1.3 amp in-out window fan 2 speed. cat no D20257. I cannot find it online. any ideas from any fan people?

Update (07/20/23)

I tried a 2.5 and same issue. tried a 3 mfd and no help. could there be a thermo fuse in the switch? cannot imagine jamming that inside a small switch box but cannot think of anything else. I assume this is a run only capacitor but not sure how that works. only two leads on top of cap. can they be reversed? I reversed the wires and no difference. can it be bypassed? I don't mind starting by hand but don't want to burn up motor. can the thermo switch be bypassed if it is in there? The switch case is held together by snaps and don't want to break anything opening it up but at this point may have to. can't find any old catalogs of hunter zephair fans either. runs so smooth for 10 mins then slows a lot. ugh

@ssparko 2.5µF is not an uncommon value for that type of fan. You will find that depending on manufacturer, that value is between 1.2 µF and 7.0 µF If you identified the existing capacitor as a 2.5 µF I'd go with that and see how the fan performs.

Update (07/20/23)

@ssparko let's see what you got going on there. Post some pictures of your cap as well as your fan motor. To large of a capacitor can slow your motor down.
