Click wheel does not make the typical clicking noise

I purchased a used iPod Nano 4 GB and reset it to factory settings with iTunes. Everything works fine except the click wheel does not make the typical clicking noises. I tried it with holding down the center button and the menu button to restart the ipod but with no result. Then I changed the settings for the clicker from "both" to "speaker" and then "both" without any result.

I can hear the clicking sound with the headphones but not through the speaker.

I followed all the steps (resetting the iPod, restarting the iPod and changing the settings for the clicker) several times but with no results.

Finally I searched on the Internet for a solution but could not find any answer.

As I said everything works 100% fine except for the speaker.

Any suggestions what else I can try?
