LG screen on, lit, but with no picture.

TV was having issue for a few months, progressively worsening. Lots of horizontal lines out on the screen, then the whole picture would kinda shutter. After some research, we decided to clean the tcon cables. Since then, the TV turns on, does not appear dim, but with no display. No logo, cannot access settings, just black. Have replaced the tcon board, tcon cables, and main board with no fix. Does anyone know what could be going on? Model LG60UH6035-UC.BUSWLJR

@amonjlp that sounds like your panel not getting any power. Post a couple of good pictures of all of your boards and your interconnect ribbon cables between them. How did you originally clean the T-Con cables? Your replacement boards new or used?

@amonjlp also what do you mean by "does not appear dim" do you see the backlight turning on through the holes in the back of the panel?

da

Can u see the picture?

da

@amonjlp yes, I can. Do you have, or can you get, a multimeter?

Cleaned the ends of the original tcon cables with a little rubbing alcohol, but those have since been replaced completely. All the replacement parts were used, but we're from cracked/broken TVs and assured that the parts were in good working order.

Hi @amonjlp

With power connected to the TV and the TV switched on i.e. backlights on, there should be a voltage reading (13V?) on the fuse on the tcon board (as shown in your 2nd last image posted).

If not check the voltages on the power board as seen in the image below. The image is for a different LG power board but it should be close and usually the pin out voltages are printed in a table on the board close to the cable connector for the mainboard - power board cable.

Be safety aware when testing on the power board with the power connected as there is exposed lethal AC voltage on the board

The fuse on the tcon board good. As far as the power board, do I check each pin on this? Do I unplug the cable when I do so? Or is this step not required as the fuse on the tcon board is getting 12-13v?

@amonjlp

You can probably only easily measure the odd numbered pins at the back of the connector - see board markings which show pin 1 or arrowhead for verification as the even numbered pins require the cable to be removed and then the power board doesn't behave properly.

Do you get audio when the TV is on, you didn't say?

If there is audio then since you have replaced the mainboard and the tcon board and are getting the correct voltage on the tcon board fuse, unless a replacement board is faulty it's looking like the TV screen panel is the problem
