Why is my battery health down by 1 percent in less than a week?

Hi guys.

I got a brand new iphone 13 last week friday. Its less than a week and i have not let it charge above 80 percent, nor let it drain many times past 20 percent, i do not use a powerbank too. Is this normal please?

Also i checked iunlocker, and i noticed that the activation date for my iphone was in 2021 November, whereas i bought this phone in February 2023. And the apple warranty is expired. Please what does this point to. Thank you

hello Esther,

I agree with you, it's a strange situation. Check it in menu settings-->>this device: item model name. Make sure it's not the Chinese way of model 13. The iPhone 13 was launched in September 2022.

Hi Esther,

The battery health is an estimation. A 1% variation is not a big deal. If the decrease is from 100% to 99%, it isn't alarming(yet). In my previous experience, it stayed at 100% for a few months.

If, after one week is less than 99%, then it might be an issue. I would double-check if the retailer is selling new or reconditioned smartphones.

Regarding the expired warranty, I suggest checking in Settings/About and seeing if it is the same (expired or not). If it's expired, it could indicate that it is a reconditioned phone sold as new.
