MacBook Pro screen swap.

will the screen from an early 2008 macbook pro 15" fit on a mid-2009 macbook pro 15"? a friend of mine has a mid-2009 that has a cracked screen, and my 15" early 2008 has a dead logic board. are the screens swappable between these two models?

Unfortunately, no they are not. They have different LVDS/video data cables, among other things. The LVDS cable goes between the logic board and the LCD, allowing them to communicate. The pinouts of the 2 cables are different on these models. The mid 2009 15" Macbook Pro LCD is interchangeable with all LCDs available for the 15" Macbook Pro LCD from late 2008 thru early 2011 for sure and may be compatible with those after that.
