Not playing through left speaker after jack replacement

Just purchased a replacement jack and hold switch plus a new battery from ifixit. The jack had been working previously but the hold switch had been damaged on my first repair.

Replaced both components with no issues and confirmed all ribbon connections tight. Coming from a technical background I am confident everything has been installed correctly (hold switch now works) however the left speaker does not work on any headphones or speakers. Double checked all conections but think the jack is faulty from point of manufacture. Looking at the exploded diagram of the jack port the left speaker connection is at the base of the port so any pin manipulation is not feasible. Ifixit ignoring my correspondence, any advice appreciated.
