Why does my Kenmore elite washer suddenly stop after loading water?
It fills up with water then stops, so I notice I have to open lid and move around the washer basket then it continues. Sometimes I have to do this few times through out cycle.

What is the model number of the washer?
You say that "Sometimes I have to do this few times through out cycle.", do you mean only during the fill in the wash and rinse cycles or that the machine just randomly stops during any of the cycles, wash, rinse and spin?
If randomly stopping there may be a problem with the lid switch.
When it occurs try just opening the lid without doing anything else and then closing it again and check if the cycle continues
