Replacement lightning port and screen works…sorta. Need help!

I recently upgraded my phone and want to give my old one to my grandma so I decided to change the battery, lightning port, and screen just to kind of refresh the phone. I managed to replace them all, I made sure all the connections were seated in, no missing screws, but when I plugged in a charger, the phone turned on but the battery indicator was all the way down and not showing percentage or charging status. I also noticed that the motherboard seemed to get a bit hot . Another problem was the home button Taptic feature didn’t work but it still functions normally. So I took it all apart and put back the oem lightning port and screen and now the battery shows it’s charging and it’s at 66% but the home button Taptic still didn’t work. So is the replacement port bad? Is my Taptic Engine broken? Did I mess something up? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Does your taptic engine work in other applications? Flip the ringer toggle switch and see if you get vibration. If you do probably something is up with either the home button flex on the display (assuming you transplanted the original home button to the new display). Or the home button flex from the display to the board.

If not, then check the taptic engine flex cable, it’s quite small and fragile and I have seen them get torn before. Otherwise, it’s very plausible the lightning port (I assume you replaced this whole cable assembly) is bad. And it may have damaged the taptic engine since that’s what it plugs into.

Наступний крок , це необхідно перевірити шлейфи, які можуть пошкодитися під час відключення та підключення до материнської плати! Також перевіряйте кручені болти і переконайтеся, що всі на місці!

Кнопка домашнього вже навігаційного не буде працювати за повною програмою, не варто і перевірити її і спробувати правильно, за допомогою пінцета ввімкнути та знову підключити)

І тільки головне, після зняття дисплея не забудьте відключити питання і не трогати ніякими деталями руками!

Where do I find the part to plug in the charging wire ?

I will call it the female receptive adaptive connection.

The charging wires will not stay plugged in if the phone is moved slightly. I have tried several different charging wires.
