Disk Drive Opening/Closing on it's own: Don't know if Haunted.

I have an Xbox 360 S, Motherboard is the Corona revision.

I’ve recently fixed an issue where it was giving an ‘Open Tray’ Error and discovered the error was a disconnected SATA cable or rather, a SATA cable not plugged in securely.

I assembled to the console, checked the face plate for debris, which there was none, plugged it up and put in a game. I played it for about 10-15 minutes unti the console went ‘BING!’ and opened the disk drive. It then proceeded to open and close the drive with multiple ‘BING!’s’ opening and closing the thing.

I powered it off, Unplugging it, cleaned the touchless contacts and powered her back on and the problem persist’s. I checked online for a guide, but all I found was a guy claiming there a micro controller switch inside that broke off and I’m shaking the thing gently but I hear nothing rattling inside so I’m at a loss about what’s wrong.

Can I get a CLEAR answer? Or SOMETHING to try out?

I found my answer to the issue. There was an eroded trace along the flex cable for the Open/Eject button and it was going off with the reaction to the steel housing of the Xbox Console.

I don’t know how to fix it traditionally, but taping over it with electrical tape after cleaning it with alcohol, I was able to use the console though the button no longer works as the trace is long gone. Replacing the faceplate would be more suitable, but I don’t know who sells them anymore.
