Touchscreen works badly after water drop

Yesterday morning I accidentally dropped my phone in the water for a few hours, shortly after I opened it and inspected it, inside I found a tiny and not very dangerous amount of water, the indicator below The SIM entry is white, but there is a problem, unfortunately the touchscreen glass works badly, even if I checked and cleaned with isopropyl alcohol I am still afraid it could be a problem connected to the motherboard or the charging module where the screen cable connects; If I buy a replacement screen will it work fine or will it have the same problem? For now, I'll try traditional rice

I have already opened the device and disassembled the motherboard to check it, I also checked the inside of the phone and that little amount of water found I removed it and I passed some isopropyl alcohol, i never charged and It works like nothing happened, i turned It on today and i tryied making the touchscreen test with *#0*# and It works well than Yesterday, but Just a small parts of the screen Is unresponsive (a Total of 5% of the touchscreen)

@nyankiller if you cleaned it all properly etc. reassemble with a new screen and see what happens. If it does not work then it is possible that you have a shorted trace somewhere along the touchscreen controller IC

Ok, before buy a new screen i will check the EMI shield Just to be sure

[image|2431206] if you can see about 0.5mm of the left part of the screen died (black line) and the touchscreen in that part of the screen works badly, i think the problem Is on the screen

Ok replacing it might fix this. I hope it really works for you. Let us know once you replace the screen

@nyankiller no! STOP! DO not do this “For now, I'll try traditional rice“ SKIP THAT! It is absolutely useless. It will not help you fix your phone. All it does it provides a false sense of security. It will not clean your phone, it will not prevent corrosion. Not sure why this is even still being mentioned. That myth has been laid to rest many years ago. For more info about that on here Don't Put Your Device in Rice. Here's Why...

“not very dangerous amount of water “ any amount of water is dangerous. It will deposit residues that are conductive and will shorten out your components.

First you want to stop continuing to try to charge, sync or otherwise use your phone. This potentially can make a bad situation worse. This may further damage your phone.

The next thing to do is to clean it. Disassemble your phone using something like this video . You must remove all EMI shields from the circuit board. If you do not remove those, you might as well not do anything. After you removed those, clean the whole board, connectors and all with +90% isopropyl alcohol. Follow this guide , and even so it was written for an Apple iPhone 3G, all the points are still pertinent to your phone. While you clean your board, check for any obvious damage, like burned or missing components etc. When it is properly cleaned, replace the battery. All these steps are to avoid delayed failure caused by corrosion. Best thing to do would be to clean it with an ultrasonic cleaner, but if you do not have access to one, this will at least help. Once all this is done, reassemble your phone with a new battery and reevaluate. In your case you may need a new display assembly since your touch screen is not working but until it is cleaned, everything will only be a guess. Even with all this, water damage has only a small chance to be fully repaired, but at least you can give it a try.
