Wii u only displays in black and white on the TV.

The wii u doesn’t show any colors on the tv. But it shows them on the gamepad. I am using HDMI, my settings are set to 1080p hdmi in system settings. I have tried switching the cables, changing to composite then to hdmi but nothing is working.
