Simpson washer won't spin (SWT6541)

This is a top loader.(Eziset 6.5). It goes through the cycle, but at the spin stage the pump is working, but the spin does not start. This happens every time. It completes the cycle, but without spinning the clothes - leaving wet clothes.

At the spin stage, there is a sound which could be a motor is trying to start. The machine is 4 years old.      Any clues would help.  Thankyou.
