Is the RAM removable of this iMac model?

The spec of my iMac is 2.7 GHz quad-core i5 processor with 8GB 1600mzh of ddr3L RAM, and I want to upgrade it to 16GB. I‘ve checked it on the official website of Apple( https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201191... ) and it says that it’s not removable. But, this website from Ifixit ( Sostituzione della memoria RAM dell'iMac Intel EMC 2638 da 21,5" ) shows the steps of changing the RAM and I am confused about this. So, Is the RAM removable of this iMac? Had anyone have changed it before? Thanks

I have a glass which is filled halfway is it half full or half empty?

Its all about perspective! In Apples eyes there is no access door as such its not User Upgradable! Someone with deeper skills could gain access to the SO-DIMM slots and CAN upgrade it!

So why is this so hard? Apple changed the design in the 2012 model year going way from the magnetic held cover glass to a unitized cover/display assembly which is glued onto the case! Many people have damaged their display in the process of taking it off. You must use the correct tools and technique to take it off. And then you need to take the logic board fully out following the guide you found.

Are you up to the task? Do you have a work area which you can spread out on? Don’t forget ESD protection and have the proper tools and supplies all lined up.

So the simple answer! YES you can upgrade your 2013 system.

But, if you incorrectly pick this system and you really have a 2014 model then the answer is NO! As unlike the 2013 which has SO-DIMM slots the RAM is directly soldered to the logic board on the 2014 model!
