My camera keeps displaying "lens error"? can the lens be replaced?

I keep getting "lens error" when I try to turn on my camera. Is it time to get a new one or is it able to be fixed at a decent price?

Lens errors can be pretty common and cold be caused by a few thingsm like sand interfering with the lens extension. before replacing the lens, I would try to clean it etc. Here is a great site that gives really good advice about what to try. If you really need to replace the lens, take a look on here and see if that is something you would tackle....good luck
