Why is my computer so hot?
The small space at the top of the keyboard gets extremely hot.
I generally prune my usage because of this but I’ll still get Firefox (one tab open, only program open), or Spotlight using significant energy.
I took it to the apple store in July after a full reset didn’t resolve the issue. They cleaned the dust (which was a reasonable amount), and it still had issues.
They mentioned that it surprisingly had the symptoms of the battery recall but my serial code wasn’t a part of their program.
They offered to redo some seals on my cpu but it was not cheap. When this all started my battery cycle count was in the upper 700s. Also of note, the computer would sometimes shut off at 50% battery and then claim that it had no battery. If I reset the SMC (or perhaps its PRAM or NVRAM), the computer would then boot.
Recently, my right speaker has been blown out but that may be unrelated because that came several months later.
Questa è una buona domanda?
Well I would first like to get a better view of your battery, install this gem of an app! CoconutBattery take a snapshot of the apps main window and post it here for us to see Aggiungere immagini ad una domanda
For your temps I would recommend installing this great app TG Pro that should allow you to see more clearly what's getting hot. After adjusting the main window so all of the sensors are visible in one screenshoot take a snapshot and post it here as well when your system feels hot.
With both of these we can figure out whats happening.
FYI - There is no seals on your CPU but there is thermal paste which helps in the transmission of heat to the heat sink from the CPU. But before you do anything lets see if we can discover what is the root issue with the two snapshots.
