MacBook Pro 2017 The color white flickering but stop when moving track

Hello,

I have a problem with my mac since few weeks now. The white becomes grey and flickers all the time. I have no problem with another color.

I can watch a movie, or a video on YouTube the colors don’t seem alternate. It’s mostly the background screen, like on the Google page, or on the software page for example, but if I replace the color by an other, the problem disappears.

When I move my cursor with my trackpad or with an external mouse. The flickering stops while i keep moving it.

Update (10/31/2020)

On this one we cannot clearly see, but the screen is flickering very fast, but if i just put the background in black it stops.

And this is what happens when i connect to my TV screen

But the screen on my laptop is not affected.

Does the problem happen when you are using an external display?

Ouch! That implies the issue is within the logic board graphics services.

This series uses the intergraded graphics engine within the CPU and the systems RAM. Then the output is pushed to the MUX drivers to pump the video to the two Thunderbolt ports and the internal display. Somewhere in this pathway is where the issue is.

If your system is covered by AppleCare+ Apple is on the hook

Hey Dan, when i say "It's worse, the whole screen is glitching and moving."

I need to precise that i speak of the Tv screens, not my mac screen. There is no change on the mac screen.

I don't know if this info change anything in your diagnostic ?

Thank you for your answer

Yep the MUX logic has a problem! The signal is just more distorted via the external display than the internal.

Time to visit an Apple Store to get it serviced ASAP! You may still have a window within your warranty coverage without an argument. If its not covered, see if you can push for a warranty exception, that may take some pleading and might need for you to push up the food chain to get a yes. Lastly did you take out the service contract Apple+ that at least will cover a good amount of the cost.

@danj Thanks you Dan to take the time to answer my questions. Unfortunately this macbook is not covered anymore. Have a great day !

@toon2487 - Don't give up! I've bent the geniuses ear a few times getting things covered like this! It's worth the effort.
