MacBook Pro 2015 13" dead

13” Macbook Pro Retina (2015) suddenly died.

I tried every key combination to revive it with no luck.

I unplugged battery cable also what brings it down to potential problem with logic board… MagSafe LED is on while charging.

There was no evident liquid spillage but after having closer look I noticed some green residue looking like a corrosion on a part of motherboard which is close to vents. I realised there could be some minor unnoticed spillage while using macbook on some damp surface.

I cleaned that corrosion with dry paper towel but still no luck. Please see the attached pictures and let me know what other steps can I perform before sending it for a professional repair.

Would cleaning that part with 99% alcohol be helpful?

Update (10/02/2020)

I cleaned the corrosion from the outer site, but it didn't help. I took the motherboard out and noticed there are also corroded bits on the other side of JTAG connector. I've cleaned it all and tried to plug the magsafe but with no luck (fan didn't start spinning). Please look at attached pictures and let me know if you guys have any other ideas? Magsafe diod colour - amber.

Not to worry! This is just raw copper which tarnished! As long as you don't have the traces bridged you'll be OK. This is a JTAG connection point used during manufacturing to test the logic board.

Well, you do have a kettle of fish here!

So you did have a spill which made its way into your system. One of the side effects besides the corrosion is shorting across components which are not designed to handle the higher current load.

Time to visit someone with deeper skills to diagnose what components are damaged and can replace them. your only other option is replacing the logic board.
