Home Button issues after repair

So I'm fixing someone's iPad 2 and I'm having some issues wuth the home button. Basically I put it on the new digitizer that I installed and it doesnt work. Is there a cable that I'm missing or is there a specific way to put it on? The home button assembly isnt attached to anything right now and is just glued to the digitizer. I hear the click but no response on the screen any idea? Is it possible I put it in upside down and thats the reason?

Please I dont want to have to buy this guy a new iPad...
