no interior light in maytag fridge. recently had a power failure and after power was restored, light did not work.

Thanks for your input into my lightless refrig. As I said, tried everything to no avail. However, yesterday , upon opening the fridge door, the light came on. No rhyme or reason. It seems that the system needed a long period of time to reset.

Is it the lights in both the refrigerator and freezer compartments or just the one compartment?
If both compartments then the problem may be back at the control board.
The door switches signal the control board to turn the lights on and off.
If it was just the one compartment then check the door switch first by disconnecting the power to the refrigerator, removing the door switch part #6 refrigerator liner parts, part #16 freezer liner parts and testing it with an Ohmmeter.
If they are both OK you may have to check the control board - part #4 refrigerator liner parts for any obvious problems.

What is the model number of the refrigerator?
Are the other refrigerator functions working OK e.g. temps OK in both compartments, no ice build up etc?

Model # mfx2571xem2 Maytag. All other functions are working. Light stopped working after power was restored from a blackout in NY. Tried everything to no avail.
