Panasonic plasma tx-p50u30b - green light blinks then no display FIXED

Hello,

I have a Panasonic Plasma tx-p50u30b - about 8 years old which has a weird problem.

I switch it on, the green light flashes 30+ times and makes it’s familiar sounds, but takes slightly longer than expected, then stays green but with no display. Every 30 seconds it clicks as if it’s trying to reset and does the same thing.

It does turn on if I hold the standby button on the remote down immediately after turning on. But then after 30 seconds or so it resets and does the same thing. Which give me some hope its a simple problem.

I’ve tried leaving it for 24hrs unplugged then trying again. I’ve also tried changing the batteries in the remote and taking the batteries out the remote entirely.

I’ve found plenty of information about red light blink codes but nothing like this so I’m at a loss. I’m a tech novice so reluctant to open up the back but willing to give it a go if it’s an easy fix since it’s the last plasma of it’s kind!

Managed to fix my own problem. Seems it was the remote.

I turned the tv on, holding the standby button down on the remote until it came on THEN took the batteries out.

New remote on order :)
