L2 and X buttons not working

So… After a sleep deprived night my partner accidentally dropped his controller on his giant mug of tea. I was surprised with the amount it soaked up since it wasn’t in for more than 2 seconds. I took it apart, cleaned it and wrapped the battery to dry. Today I decided to put it back together and it actually works, except for the L2 and X buttons.

I took it apart again but I couldn’t see anything wrong with it.

I did order him a new one but really wanted to fix this one since this PS4 (and controller) was the first console he was able to afford on his own and he’s very proud of it.
