Doing a repair and ripped something. Is it important?

So I’m bought an old iPhone 3 and was checking the motherboard. While i was taking off the metal protectors, one of these metal things broke (see picture)

Was wondering if they were anything important and how to fix it if it is or if I can just leave it like that

Picture is not clear. Looks like it is just bent. Where is it broken?

Added a new pic. I’m just worried because it looks soldered on and I’m not too good with soldering

Hi @coolmanguy124

Was the phone working or not before you opened it?

Just trying to understand why you opened it.

What were you checking on the motherrboard?

I would say that the lifting metal bracket provides more structural support for the phone and to protect the motherboard as well. In some devices its not uncommon to have a small rubber sticker on top to hide the components underneath. Take some submarine UV glue and gently apply it to the corners of the brackets.

But in future reference, never forcefully disassemble anything. If it doesn’t easily move then check for hidden screws. Never pull only gently lift.

You could glue it down instead of soldering as it is not a circuit. It does have to be flush otherwise the phone will not go together properly.
