I completed the ifixit hard drive replacement, and it went mostly well, but after finishing I notice these really light lines in the corner of my display. There’s another tiny one in the other corner. I’m hoping it’s not permanent damage, any idea what might be happening?

Unfortunately, this is most likely the result of subtle damage to the display. The 27-inch display assemblies are notorious for bending during removal - any uneven bending or pressure can cause dead pixels. From my experience, these types of faded lines in the lower corners normally result from pressure applied directly to the face of the display. When you removed the display, how did you store it while installing the hard drive? If it was stored in a way that would cause it to bend or put pressure on the face this may have caused your issue. Also, if the adhesive nearest the corners was not fully cleared before removal it may have caused the display to bend slightly.
I do not know of any fix other than replacing the display. On a similar model iMac I once tried to resolve this, thinking it was burn-in of some sort on the monitor. I left the display on a fullscreen white background without going to sleep for a day to see if this would affect the display enough to hide what I thought was burn-in, but it changed nothing.

Thanks Zachary, I think you are right. Argh. Sadly this was a pretty botched repair overall. This, and one of the corners of the connector for the display came loose. I'm usually able to do these repairs but sadly.. this was a sad trombone. Thanks for your insight.
