No wifi/Bluetooth, no power to rightside USB after battery replacement
Hello everyone,
I have recently replaced the battery using the ifixit toolkit on my late 2012 rMBP 13” running MacOS Catalina. While that seems to have been successful and the MacBook powers on without issues, wifi and bluetooth no longer seem to be working. Furthermore, I don't seem to have power to the right side USB port (could be the whole side).
I have performed an SMC reset and reset PRAM without any success, which makes me believe it is a hardware issue. I/O board data cable perhaps? Opened up again and checked over everything, but nothing seems to be out of order or visibly damaged.
Update (06/03/2020)
Problem solved. Will mention in case someone has this issue in the future.
The I/O board data cable connectors had been deformed somehow during my disassembly. Notably, the data cable fit just fine even though the connectors were deformed. I used one of the fix kit tools to bend the connectors back to their original shape/position and everything is now back to normal. It's definitely a part that needs to be paid attention during assembly/disassembly.
