Battery not recognised and SMC issue?

I'm only able to boot up my macbook in safe mode if I tryto boot up it normally then it getting crash also the fan is running every time means when I press the power button the fan start running, I'm not able to see battery icon in menu bar and battery indicator is not working…..

I tried all trouble shooting steps like NVRAM or PRAM reset and SMC reset…when I did apple hardware test then I got PPT001 & PFM001 error code……I also tried to remove the battery cable for 30 sec and then reconnect it but this also not work for me….

This problem happen to start when I was cleaning my macbook with cleaning liquid, I frequently (once in 3 months) clean my macbook with liquid since I purchased (2015) but never got this type of issue…I spray liquid on cotton cloth then I clean my macbook so the chance of liquid damage is less and suppose if liquid is split on my macbook then that will be very very less (2 or 3 drops) I don't think these amount of liquid can damage my mother board because there was much protection inside keyboard for liquid damage…

I visited near by Apple store and they said that mother board has to be replaced without checking my machine……please help me because I love my macbook and also care it….. macbook has changed my life completely and I want my macbook in well condition please provide me help…..I don't want to loose my macbook at any cost

For all the people I want to say, if you think you macbook is not working or you have liquid damage then before going to apple store follow this steps….

  • Reset your NVRAM or PRAM. Shut down your Mac and press power button and immediately press Command+Option/alt+P+R
  • Reset your SMC (different macbook has different methods, check on internet for your macbook)
  • Do AHT(Apple Hardware Test). Shut down your Mac and immediately press D button. This will check your hardware and tell you results if you have any hardware issue, you will get an error code…search it on internet
  • Open your macbook back case and remove the battery connector for 2 min then put it back and check your Mac is working or not
  • Remove battery indicator cabe and check your Mac is working or not
  • Remove battery connector and press the power button for 10 sec and connect your magSafe charger by holding power button
  • Start removing each cables like hard drive, battery, keyboard, trackpad etc. and check your Mac one by one this will tell you if you have any issue with other components other than mother board
  • If still your Mac is not working then surely there is an issue with mother board…..take your Mac to apple store and Pray for it because in most of the cases they say replacement of mother board which is very very expensive equivalent to purchase new Mac………Good Luck

Well, you are cleaning your system correctly, spraying the cloth then using it. As long as its not soaking wet (just lightly damp) then that’s not your issue.

Let’s look at this from a different direction, lets install this app to get a better view of things CoconutBattery post a snapshot of the apps main window here for us to see Aggiungere immagini ad una domanda

OK, so what happened? I’m suspecting you have a fake charger which likely has cause your problems. These cloned chargers are not the same as what Apple designed and expect to be used on your system. Here’s a link to the Apple units MagSafe Power Adapters. Remember these chargers look exactly alike! To get an idea of the harm these can cause look at this Lacking safety features, cheap MacBook chargers create big sparks

This is just the visible damage. your logic board could also be damaged.

Update (05/29/2020)

Clearly your battery is not working correctly as CoconutBattery is not even reporting the batteries information. You’ll need to start with that. But that still doesn’t explain why your MagSafe charger is not lighting up at all. That implies you have a bad charger (fake or otherwise). So you’ll need a new one as well (get it directly from Apple) 90% of the chargers sold on Amazon and eBay are fake! Even ones sold at some stores are as well!

That still leaves us with some work on your system. Notice the color of the plastic internals of your MagSafe connector. It is black with dirt! Use a cotton swab with 85% or better Isopropyl alcohol. It should be a dark gray like my picture. Next you need to clean off the contact pins it looks like there is some dirt on the outer two pin contacts. Use a new pink pencil eraser on a pencil (one that is not dried out) after first trying the cotton with Isopropyl alcohol to clean it.

Lets see what happens with a fresh battery and charger

I fear the contacts still look dirty and damaged.

@prince29 - Did you order a new battery as well as get a new charger directly from Apple? If you did then we need to wait until you get the battery installed and use the new charger

As far as your DC-In board the yellow staining is a wax sealer the part is coated with that has started to break down with age. If you want to you can replace it, but to be clear if you cleaned the MagSafe connector and its not damaged I don't see this as an issue.

How about posting a new picture of the connectors face so we can see how it looks now after cleaning.

@danj I cleaned magsafe, but didn't work.....see images in my question
