Will US Layout Keyboard work on a UK Machine?

Hi there,

I've been cleaning my laptop with some Alcohol 70% and THEN some of my keys stopped working. Probably some leaked in and damaged the keyboard. So, I've been looking into replacing it. Thanks iFixit for the great guides.

I bought the MacBook in the UK and now that I'm in the US I'm wondering what will I need to do to make a US Layout Keyboard work properly. Will the OS recognize the change and automatically will adjust or do I need to do something?
