My mouse lights up but does not work

My Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse stopped working recently and I am trying to figure out the reason. If I bend the mouse, the light does turn on so the batteries and circuitry is working fine. The dongle is also recognized by my computer. However, the mouse does work at all (cursor does not move and buttons do not click).

I tried on multiple computers with the same result. I would like to know if there’s a problem connecting the dongle to the mouse, but I have no idea how to check this much less how to fix it.
