Original D2 Pilot Watch Battery Replacement

Garmin does not promote the replacement of batteries so if you cannot find a battery, try searching online for an equivalent on places such as Ebay or AliExpress etc.

Can you access the original battery?

If so check if there are any markings on it giving information such as the voltage (V), the dimensions and the capacity (mAH) of the battery. Usually the dimensions of the battery will be shown as a 6 digit number. The 1st two digits = the height or depth of the battery in mm, the next two digits = the width in mm and the last two = the length in mm. The convention is that there is a decimal point between the first two digits which is not shown.

e.g. 303040 = 3.0mm H x 30mm W x 40mm L.

Then search for (insert dimension number) (insert V) LiPo or Li-On battery. I cannot find out what type of battery is used as Garmin doesn’t specify. Hopefully it also may be shown on the battery

The capacity (mAH) of the battery is not the most important specification when searching. Obviously you would want a battery with the same or better capacity. The important specifications are the Voltage - it has to be the same voltage and the dimensions - the battery has to physically fit into the watch.

If you cannot find one with the same dimensions try searching for a smaller dimensioned (same voltage) battery, bearing in mind the height (depth). You may be fortunate to find one that will fit etc.
