Quarantine help please! Air won’t turn on after replacing battery

I just replaced the battery of my 2015 MacBook Air with an Ifixit battery, following their directions. And the computer still won’t turn on.

The computer had been saying “service battery” with the triangle with the exclamation point for a couple weeks, and I just hadn’t got around to taking it to the Mac store and then Covid happened and all the stores are closed :/

The last time I was using it, I was at about 8% battery and then it died/shut off. Went to plug it in and there was no color on the MagSafe light.

I figured that my battery died, so I ordered an iFixit battery and replaced as mentioned above.

Now, it won’t turn on at all still w new battery and MagSafe plugged in. Tried two different MagSafe chargers that I regularly use. No luck.

I tried cleaning out the MagSafe dock, no luck.

After replacing the the battery, I tried rebooting the SMC controller (w MagSafe plugged in), nothing.

I took the new battery out and reinstalled. Nothing.

Please help!!! I really need my computer for remote work during this time.

Can you put back old battery? try to start if yes then ask for a new battery with ifixit

Hi Carlos, I just put back the old battery, tried to start it with the SMC with the MagSafe plugged in (no light still) and nothing happened...any other ideas?
