Try to use my 2011 iMac 27” as a PC monitor with miniDiaplay to miniDisplay cable, but seems not working that way, does anyone have such experience or suggestions?

The other option is using remote desktop but thats not extending your base systems display but allowing you to run a second user account concurrently off the same system which will use more of the base systems resources.
If your system has failed (GPU) and you don’t want to repair it you’ll need to look at stripping out the logic board and putting in a new display driver board using a conversion kit.

@hru1207 explain your planned project a little bit more. What exactly do you have in mind? Monitor to what?

I basically want to use my PC which has miniDisplay port and connect with my 2011 iMAC 27" and use it as the display monitor. It works on my 2010 iMac 27", but can't get it done on 2011 one.
