iPhone stuck in boot loop after repair

So I got a couple of iPhone 7’s in which I replaced the housing, battery and screen to refurbish them.

Upon switching the devices on, both units are going into boot loop.

I’ve tried restoring the device on my mac, but am getting error 9.

I’ve also tried;

Disconnecting camera/proximity sensor

Disconnecting home button

Connecting old screen just incase I got faulty replacements

Is there anything I’m missing? I heard it might be Audio IC, but if the device cant boot at all, this can’t be it, right?

Had this issue with an iPhone 7 and the front camera-proximity etc. was faulty. I also disconnected it but it kept looping. I think that the iPhone 7 does a pre-boot check and if there is a problem detected, it won’t boot. In my case i replaced the flex cable and everything was ok. I also had the same again and the fault was on the flex cable of the home button

Good luck

It might be worthwhile for me to order a replacement flex cable just to try.

I thought if it was the sensor that it would turn on unplugged. But if it worked for you, it's worth a shot.

They're not that expensive anyway.

This sounds like an audio IC repair gone wrong. They have applied to much heat to the board resulting in the baseband CPU solder balls bridging.

Check around the big audio IC and you will find it has been worked on. If I where you I would try and get my money back.

No Audio IC was done. Only housing replacement, battery and screen. Done by myself. Units were in working condition before hand

Put board back in old housing use all the old parts. If the board boots start swapping parts to you find what is faulty. Especially dock and battery.

Try to disconnect as much as possible to keep the phone running, which means either only display flex, battery and power flex (or turn on with tweezers) or power flex, battery and charging flex to restore via iTunes. iTunes is very unreliable, so it might work to use another computer without an Antivirus software.

When changing the housing, did you remove the flex that is attached to the housing itself and maybe damaged the flex? Have you checked charging port for dirt and are you using original cable to connect to itunes? I thought error 9 was a connection error.

I had an ip7 on boot loop and it was due to the proximity sensor/camera flex.
