iPhone 11 screen warning and Apple certification

Hey guys I’m wondering since Apple has locked the iPhone 11’s and they won’t take any 3rd party screens Is anyone worried about that? Has anyone tried to apply for the Apple certification repair store? And if so, how has the process been? And if you have any advice about it? Or have anyone replaced an iphone 11 screen with a 3rd party one yet? I just got the qianLi icopy thing it works amazing. I wonder if we would need to used a device like icopy to remove the iphone 11 screen warning.

The phone knows the screen is a replacement by one of these chips (likely the QR engraved one), but in the past that hasn’t stopped FaceID from working as long as the paired sensor isn’t swapped. If you swapped the sensor, put the old one back into the phone and see if that helps. The issue is the data for the phone on the secure enclave does not match the blank screen - the current tools Apple uses are cloud based, so it isn’t like ASD on older hardware where a leak was worth something.

If the sensor is unchanged, you’re probably better off going to an authorized IRP shop instead of Apple, especially since you opened the phone and they may turn you away for making a repair attempt - whereas an IRP authorized shop will probably look the other way since you’re not the first one to try it and go back to the stock screen, and return the 3rd party one.

Yes you are right. it's all about the touch module here. Transplant the chip onto the replacement screen and the problem is fixed. Soluzione per il messaggio "schermo non originale" sulla serie iPhone 11

There are two options to gain access to some of the tools and parts needed to do iPhone repairs. There is the Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) and Apple Independent Repair Provider Program (AIRPP) which both are horrible. You can’t keep a stock on parts so each part is a special order in which you’ll need the serial number for the device to order parts and you have to send back the originals. You’re very limited as to what parts and services you can provide and you’re pricing almost matches what Apple charges for service. But we are fighting this issue. As far as I know there have been numerous repair shops that have done 11 screens and it’s just like doing any other iPhone really.

Hi, I replaced the display independently, not in the Apple service, to my disappointment I found a message in the device that warned me that the part is not original, consequently the FaceID was disabled. Can you tell me about ear? Thank you

The sensor has remained unchanged, I believe that in the 11 series has been inserted the limitation that identifies tampering and replacements with non-original parts, and automatically disables FaceID.

However, to be precise, I also replaced the rear camera, damaged in the impact.

The FaceID does not work, could it depend on this? Thank you

Everything works fine for me. But the message appears that the screen is not original.

I have replaced the screen with a non-original one, unfortunately the Face ID remains disabled.

I’ve recently swapped an 11 pro max display with an original display pulled out of another 11 pro max.

everything works 100% including true tone (copied the display serial numbers via one of the programmers available online). However, the display message is there.

In contrast, I swapped the display on another 11 pro max with a third party oled display. This one showed up absolutely no serial numbers on the display programmer which indicated that the IC on the display was “blank”. After restoring the display serial numbers on this 11 pro max’s display, all the notifications were gone however this display does not support true tone. The option is not there in the menu. Weird but verified.

AFAIK, for display calibration, no specialized HW is needed anymore with no 3d touch in the recent iPhones. All SW based. Given this, Apple should allow recalibration (pairing) of displays not purchased from Apple. Even if for a small fee.

For the first iPhone, which had the display swapped from another iPhone i.e. 100% original, why does Apple want to charge $500 CAD for display replacement prior to any other repair (such as battery replacement) when the replacement part is already 100% original!
