Where is the NAND-IC and how to clean it (error 21)?

I get error 21 when I try to recover an iPhone 3GS, and have googled to try to find answers.

Some people suggest to clean the NAND Ic board, but where is this?

Can someone help me on this?

There is really only one board in the iPhone, and that's the main logic board. If you look at our teardown, you can see the logic board step where we point out the Toshiba NAND flash. To be able to clean it, you would have to remove the logic board and desolder the EMI shields. Unless you are really good at soldering, you might want to just consider a new logic board, which we, unfortunately, do not sell.
