Sound input problem, not sure whether microphone faulty

Hi there,

I have a sound input problem, but I am not exactly sure whether it’s a microphone problem, and if so which microphone is defective.

Sound input is broken and only generates a buzzing or grizzling sound, whichever app I use:

• phone when in normal mode
• Whatsapp recording sound
• Whatsapp calling in normal mode
• voice memos recording

Conversely, sound input is perfect in the following conditions:

• phone when in speaker mode
• Whatsapp when in speaker mode
• recording videos
• any app using earphones

I was thinking it was my bottom microphone, but then I read in some places that recording voice memos uses top microphone. So if that is the case, it would be inconsistent with the assumption that top microphone is fine and bottom microphone is faulty.

I don’t know what is the origin of the problem, because it happened both after a fall, and a while after doing a repair. So I am not sure exactly when it started.
