Just a thought and certainly no expert on TV repair. Unplug completely from wall socket and let sit for an hour. Try turning on the unit again to see if it makes any difference. If not difference, then it could be time to do a visual inspection of the TV's insides as a starting point in trying to isolate and fix the malfunction. I am sure you will also hear from others here more experienced with this kind of problem than I am. :-)
@astupidaholea1 (really? not very imaginative) what exact model is your TV? When you say it is flickering what does that mean? Do you have an actual picture that flickers or does it turn off/on? We need you to be more descriptive since we cannot see what you see.
