Looking up and spinning around after replacement stick

I had an issue with my right analog stick on my PS4 controller where I had to desolder the stick and replace it.

After soldering in the replacement stick, I've just hopped onto a game to test it and my character just looks up and spins around (the actions the right stick would control). Clicking the button doesn't register the action, and moving the stick doesn't override the look/spin.

Have I buggered the PCB, or have I gone wrong with the solder somewhere? The PCB is still quite sticky with flux, so could that still be an issue?

Ta.

The flux shouldn't be a problem as it's non-conductive; some flux are water soluble but unless you plan to wash the whole circuit board use 90% or higher isopropyl alcohol to clean any leftover residue. Suggest you revisit your soldering and inspect the contacts for any solder bridging (that is where solder from one contact is also connected to another contact when it is not supposed to be connected). Using solder braid (braided copper wire which will draw up into itself any excess solder when applied to solder joints that are heated with your soldering iron) to clean up the joints may be useful. Might also want to post some photo's so that participants here have a clearer picture of your situation if further assistance is required. See how to at:
