Old PS4 controller will not charge and new one won't connect.
So recently my old dual shock (the original that came with the system) controller has stopped charging entirely. And I mean entirely, I’ve tried different usb cords to different power outlets ( be it my actual ps4, wall outlet, PC, etc.) and even went and got a new wireless charging station, nothing has been working. So I went and bought a new controller thinking that would be the end of it, sadly it wasn’t. Despite fully charging on the usb connected to my PlayStation it won’t actually connect and will not even appear in the devices menu. My old one only has enough of a charge to last roughly 2 seconds before it shuts off again so it is not helping me in that situation either. I’ve tried almost every hack I’ve come across but no luck. Any ideas?

If they are exactly the same units ( circuit board(s), battery specifiations, connectors etc) maybe try swapping parts between the two to see if you can narrow down what each of their problems are?
