A1502 2015 strange display issue

Hi,

Hope someone can help me with a strange issue I am having with a 13 inch retina macbook Pro (early 2015).

In it’s original state, the internal display of the macbook does not power on. I have tested the 2015 display in a 2014 machine, and it works. I tested a 2014 screen in the 2015 macbook, and it powers on after 20 seconds or so, as reported by several users, and works fine after that.

From what I can tell, both the display and the board on this 2015 macbook are fine (no sign of water damage), but are just refusing to work together… has this happened to someone else before?

Thanks, any input will be appreciated.

Cheers

Can you expand what you mean by not power on.

● Does the backlight fail (shining a flash light through the Apple logo in the lid show a faint image of your desktop and its icons)

● The displays image is not present at all, but you can see the glow of the backlight.

● What does an external monitor show?

Swapping out the displays only confuses things here stick with the original display. What is the orginal reason for the repair? Liquid damage?

Thank you for your input, Dan... the macbook works fine on an external display, the original LCD is not even recognised and does not show on system preferences>displays... no glow or image of the desktop. That was why I tested the 2014 display, which works.

I bought this macbook as broken, the owner thought it did not work since no image was displayed and the fans don't spin from boot...

Cheers,

Pedro

What does the 'About this Mac' tell you on the details of the system and also plug in the case's S/N within EveryMac - Lookup.

Is it possible someone swapped out the logic board? Both should point to the same system, does it?
