MacBook 15" mid 15 retina Fan issues
Hey all!
I’ve got a Macbook that is having issues with the fan. According to TG Pro and other apps, all my sensors are ok, but all the apps cannot detect the fan speed of my Left fan. The right fan, it is able to detect and control the speed.
I’ve had the bottom lid open to check if the fan is even running, and it is. Also TG Pro is says I have no issues with the fan.
I’ve tried to replace the fan, but the new fan just kept running full speed from the reboot. I’ve tried SMC and PRAM reset with the new fan to no avail.
Any suggestions?
I’ve dropped the MacBook btw, and need to replace the screen if this extra info helps troubleshoot.

The Sensors on the Logic Board may be defective, they might be passing a presence test but are not fully functional.
I would recommend manually setting the fans to an average speed and if you plan on using intensive applications then ramp up the speed yourself.
Otherwise you're looking at 2 options:
1) Replace the Logic board
2) Send the unit to a professional who can do board level repairs to replace the sensors after running more in depth testing or ASD

@rnikkel Thanks for the reply.
All the programs that allow you to do this isn't letting me change the speed. It doesn't know what speed it is running on and when I move the bar, it does not react. This if for the left fan. The right fan has no issues. It will speed up, slow down, tell me the rpm it is running.
