I was replacing the glass on my iPhone 3G, when i was putting in back together I broke the black cradle thingy along with the white tab on connector 3 from the logic board and the cable won't stay in!
Can I fix it or do I need to buy a new logic board??
If I can't fix it, where can I buy a new logic board or a used iPhone 3G for cheap?

Hey, don't panic. That tab sure is a piece of fragile technology. I don't know who can repair that and a new logic board would be expensive. I have had success with those kind of broken tabs. You will need for this repair a pair of tweezers with an angle.
- Find a thin but stiff plastic sheet (like the one covering a new touch screen or LCD).
- Cut a small strip about a 1-2 cm. and only wide enough to fit into the connector. It must not be too long so it bends when the screen is in place.
- Insert the "3" cable and with the tweezers slide in the plastic into the connector on top of the cable. You should feel a little pressure since it should press and keep the cable in place.
You might have to experiment with the plastic thickness but once it seems tight it should keep the cable tight. Let us know how it works!

Jeremy Scalpello, follow the trick from asle, if it does not work (because I think you are saying that your WHOLE connector is of the logic board) check for a user Hectordtruong on here. Read his blog and see if he has more of a solution for you. Good Luck

I have unsuccesfully tried asle's method. Yes, the whole connector is ripped off from the logic board and I sadly have very little knowledge of soldering and do not own a microscope. Does http://hectordtruong.blogspot.com/2010/0... do any work in Malta Europe?
