Document mat messed up on Epson xp 820 (800 series)

In clearing a jam on my Epson XP 820 today, I accidentally messed up the overlap between the document mat and the plastic auto feeder guide at the bottom (toward the glass side) of the ATF. I didn’t realize that the document mat comes off by pressing the tabs on both ends— and I tried to just grab the jammed paper by putting my fingers between the plastic guide and the document mat. I stupidly ignored the way the guide and document were interweaved…

That seems CRUCIAL because now the ATF won’t feed properly.

I tried to place the whole edge of the plastic guide over the doc. mat and it jammed. Placed it UNDER the doc. mat and that didn’t work either.

Thanks in advance for any ideas. The Epson support site was NO HELP AT ALL.
